The Dairy Barn: Your Go-To Spot for Delicious Ice Cream and Tasty Treats in Athens, TN

I have been coming to the Dairy Barn since childhood with my family. The service is quick considering the long lines, and the products are always delicious. We decided to drive up from Cleveland for opening weekend. My family ordered 2 large dole whips, which we have ordered in the past. I've always loved the Dairy Barn for their affordable prices and good portions. I docked 1 star because this recent large dole didn't measure up to the ones I've ordered before. Once the swirl was pushed down, the dole whip barely filled half the cup. Another family member mentioned how they felt a little cheated this time. Since it was opening weekend, it could have been a training issue. (The workers were so kind though). Hopefully, they haven't changed their portions. We had already waited in line for awhile, so maybe the somewhat disappointing portion won't be the case next time. The peanut milkshake another family member ordered was filled to the top and delicious.

Amazing food, amazing desserts, and above and beyond service!!! I had cheese sticks and a hurricane. Both were amazing. The manager/owner? went above and beyond to accommodate our group. It was my first time in Athens, but you can be sure that my next time will include a stop at The Dairy Barn!

Hot fudge cake was amazing. Onion rings are beer battered and large. Corn dog is state fair brand and just a regular corn dog. Coke tasted a little off. Overall, very good hole in the wall. The line to the drive thru was backed out into the street the entire time. The line to the walk up ordering was also backed up but they move you through pretty quickly. Was told about this place by a co-worker that’s son just flew to town and ubered here to get a hot fudge cake for his birthday this week. Then flew the plane back. That’s impressive. There is covered outdoor seating as well as restrooms.

Nice place to stop for cool refreshment on our little motorcycle ride. I had a yummy chocolate marshmallow shake with whipped cream and peanuts. My husband had a twist come dipped in chocolate. We sat at the outdoor tables in the cool shade. A lovely afternoon treat!

Love the vanilla yogurt with caramel syrup. Banana split very delicious too. You can't go wrong when you want a cold treat at The Dairy Barn in Athens. Plenty of free parking. An outdoor dining area which is covered and complete with two restrooms. Their menu includes a variety of frozen treat options. I highly recommend The Dairy Barn as the best ice cream restaurant in Athens.

This place has a bit of everything for your sweet tooth, and several other things as well. Good portion sizes as well, I could not finish my apple shortcake dessert. Prices are pretty good as well. Good value for the money. They stayed busy but the wait was not bad.

So everyone raves about this place. We drove by, it’s 95 degrees and no line, so we go. My husband gets a cone and I get a banana shake!! He loved his ice-cream and yes, that was a great shake!! Great service and fast. Now we know what everyone is raving about lol!! Definitely go!!

Was in town for a wedding and stumbled across this place for a sweet treat. We were surprised at how busy it was on a random week night, but we received our food quickly. Strawberry shortcake was delicious!
